What's new in PocketBreeze version 5.1.01?
* New ability to select skins on any folder on the device. Allowing users to use skins from a storage card even when PocketBreeze is installed on the main memory and organize the skins folder without any dependency to the PocketBreeze installation folder.
One of the long awaited feature requests that we had for PocketBreeze was adding the ability to choose skins from any location on the device, both main memory and storage card, regardless to the installation location of PocketBreeze. Until this new version, the selected skin had to be located within the PocketBreeze installation folder. With this version we changed the way the user can select skins and from now on the user can simply select any folder on the device as the target selected skin and PocketBreeze will automatically look for the available skin files within that selected skin folder - this way allowing selection of skins from both main memory and storage card
* New "Auto-Collapse empty groups" option added on the "Default folding" setting on the Calendar tab settings, allowing to auto-collapse grouping titles without any items on them, and still have empty grouping titles (/dates) displayed on the Calendar tab.
With this new version we implemented the ability to auto-collapse empty date grouping titles on the Calendar tab. When having this option enabled along with the option to display empty dates you will have all the dates without any events collapsed automatically. Expanded grouping titles with items will also automatically collapse once all items are removed from those grouping titles
When this feature request was requested on our forums I wasn't sure if this will be such a good feature to include, but now that this is implemented and I started using it on my PocketBreeze I can see how great this feature is! Having all grouping titles, including those for empty days, available on the Today screen display gives a much better 'visual feeling' how many days I have left for certain events downwards the week, something that you can't really 'feel' on the screen display when hiding empty grouping titles on the Calendar tab.
To activate this new setting you should modify the setting: "PB Options -> Calendar settings -> Day titles (bottom tab) -> Default folding state" to the new value "Auto-Coll. empty groups".
I hope that this new feature will be helpful for those that were looking for it, and also for those like me, that never thought such feature might be helpful and will give this a first try now that it was added
* PocketBreeze will now automatically detect and update when the selected time zone on the device changes.
Until this new PocketBreeze version PB wasn't updating automatically when the device time zone setting was changed. Starting from this new version PocketBreeze will automatically detect changes on the current selected time zone and will update the display automatically within ~2 seconds or less one the device time zone setting have changed without any need to manually refresh the PocketBreeze display anymore
* Menu option "Reply" added on the message item context menu on the Messages tab allowing to open a message in the reply dialog directly from PocketBreeze.
* Menu option "Reply All" added on the message item context menu on the Messages tab allowing to open a message in the reply all dialog directly from PocketBreeze.
* Menu option "Forward" added on the message item context menu on the Messages tab allowing to open a message in the forward dialog directly from PocketBreeze.
With this new version you will find three new options on the Messages tab context menu when hitting a message item; Allowing you to open a reply form for a message directly from PocketBreeze, either with Reply or Reply All action, and a similar direct option was added for Forward action
* Problem with overdue tasks when painted within today's grouping title not using the correct overdue tasks text color setting fixed.
* Folder selection dialog when setting additional search folder for category icons on the Category settings section re-designed using a much more advance and faster code.
* Battery consumption issue when using exclusive D-Pad navigation resolved.
* New folder selection dialog designed to work also with square screen devices.
* Problem with reading default text color from skin information file fixed.
* Possible memory leak when selecting a new skin fixed.
* Major change in the way storing settings, will allow to perform much smarter setting features with upcoming update like bolding only settings that modified etc. and more; Due to this change the selected PIM setting will revert back to the default value.
* When changing real time state settings that should be stored, like a current selected filter/category, sort order on one of the tabs etc. using the new settings structure saving the change on that specific setting will be done individually and much faster.
* Limitation for displaying up to 30 days on the Calendar tab when trying to hack the registry value directly removed allowing to hack this value up to 120 from now.
* Code fixes on the way storing the font settings section to save redundant registry keys when saving PocketBreeze settings.
* Based on the major change in the way PocketBreeze stores the current configuration, returning back from the Options to PocketBreeze after applying modifications in the Options section will now return back to PocketBreeze Today screen section faster.
* Problem when device date is moved backwards causing issues with the displayed information on the Messages tab fixed.
* Problem with the new skin setting selection controls staying visible when switching to a different settings tab fixed.
